Financial Data and Bank Connections

We use Stripe Financial Connections to securely link Your bank account to our Service for the purpose of accessing Your transaction history and financial data.

When You connect Your bank account through Stripe Financial Connections, we may access and collect:

Bank account transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, payments, transfers)
Account balance information
Account holder name and account details
Financial institution information
Transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, and categories
Merchant names and transaction metadata

How We Use Your Financial Data:

To provide bookkeeping and financial management services
To categorize and organize Your transactions automatically
To generate financial reports, statements, and tax documents
To sync transaction data with Your property management accounts
To help You track income and expenses for tax purposes
To provide insights and analytics about Your financial activity
To reconcile accounts and detect potential errors or fraud

Data Security:

Your bank credentials are never stored by Us. Authentication is handled securely by Stripe Financial Connections using bank-level encryption. We only receive read-only access to Your financial data and cannot initiate transactions, move money, or make changes to Your bank accounts.

Your Rights Regarding Financial Data:

You can disconnect Your bank account at any time through the Service settings. Upon disconnection:

We will immediately stop accessing new transaction data
Historical data may be retained for bookkeeping and tax compliance purposes
You can request deletion of all financial data by contacting Us
We will delete Your data within 30 days unless we have a legal obligation to retain it

Third-Party Service Provider:

Bank account connections are facilitated by Stripe Financial Connections. Stripe's handling of Your financial data is governed by:

Data Retention for Financial Information:

Financial transaction data is retained for up to 7 years to comply with IRS tax record-keeping requirements and accounting standards (IRS Publication 583), unless You request earlier deletion and we have no legal obligation to retain it. After this period, financial data is securely deleted.

Plaid Bank Connection Services

In addition to Stripe, We may also use Plaid Inc. to securely connect Your bank accounts for transaction data and account verification.

Bank account and routing numbers (tokenized or partially masked, as provided by Plaid)

How Plaid Protects Your Data:

Your bank login credentials are never stored by HouseYield. Plaid uses bank-level security (256-bit encryption) to securely transmit Your credentials directly to Your financial institution. We only receive tokenized access to Your financial data.
